Abstract

An accurate and robust system for instantaneous fuel consumption is compulsory in order to measure the behavior of the tracked vehicle in various rolling conditions such as the acceleration, the climbing and the steering.

The system consists of a gear flow meter assisted by a magnetoresistor sensor and a data acquisition DAQ Card connected to a lap top computer. The system is provided to permit the measuring of the medium fuel consumption too.

The paper presents the main technical aspects regarding the structure of the system and the solutions applied in order to obtain a maximum reliability and adaptability for a large are of vehicles.
