Abstract
The fuelling systems for the spark ignition engines have been continuously developed. From carburettors to indirect injection systems and then direct injection, the fuelling systems are the main determinant factor for the engines performances. As the environmental regulations have grown more stringent over the years, the fuelling systems have been the main resource for the improvement in performance. The paper is indented as an overview of this development process.
