Abstract

In this work we propose an apparatus for laboratories, little workshops and owners of cars. The apparatus puts together the functions of a common car battery charger and those of an apparatus for in charge testing of the battery, being also added new functions to determine the capacity of charge and discharge (C20) and the efficiency of charge. In this way we can determine the difference between the nominal capacity and the real capacity of the battery. We present the electrical diagram of this apparatus.

The device is built around a PIC16C72 micro controller. The measured and calculated parameters are shown with a digital display.
