Abstract
The present paper is studying the dynamic stability of a road vehicle, considered as a symmetric rigid. The problem of stability is studied considering a sideslip, in the absence of motor forces. The model is taking into consideration the lateral forces developed at each wheel of the vehicle by the contact between the tires and the road surface, the steering angle applied on the front wheels and the motion of the vehicle on two perpendicular directions together with the rotation around the mass centre. For the study of the stability, specific methods of dynamic systems are used, such as phase space diagrams, Liapunovs exponents.
