Abstract
This paper present results obtained for cylinder-head with 16 valves of 250-L4-DTI High-Speed
Direct Injection, (H.S.D.I.), Diesel engine with four cylinders in line, turbocharged with intercooler, situated in prototype stage of construction at Research Institute for Motor Vehicles - INAR S.A.
Brasov.
Also are investigated the effect of inlet ports geometry on swirl intensity and in-cylinder air flow at cylinder-head with multivalve technique, and swirl number variation for optimization the fuel-air mixing as a function of engine charge and speed, when are used the swirl throttle.
