Abstract

Continuously variable transmissions (CVT) are high loaded systems in a vehicle powertrain. The power is transmitted via force closure in a high loaded lubricated friction contact. One way to optimise the systems behaviour and to improve the system efficiency is to switch over to new friction pairings. The design process of the integration of discs made of aluminium oxide ceramics is. The test bench with a variator module is introduced. Measures are presented and conclusions for the further development are derived.
