Abstract

Abstract:

This paper describes newly developed common-rail injection system in order to reduce emission, where an injector is a pilot operational valve with hydro-mechanical position servomechanism by a feedback slot on the main valve. The pilot valve is actuated by a Giant-Magnetostrictive actuator which outputs displacement of 50 µm within 0.4msec.The main valve opens in the proportion of displacement of the pilot valve, which enables to control injection rate freely with input current into the actuator. The specification is injection rate of 100mm 3 /ms and supply pressure of 15MPa for DME engines. Design parameters are determined by Bond Graph Analysis and response speed and injection rate are measured by Euler’s method. The subject of research is also spreading into marine engines.
