Abstract

Driver assistance systems will only find acceptance if they can be adjusted to the specific preferences, capabilities and also to actual psychical states of a driver. For this end it is necessary to model driver behaviour and driver states, especially intraindividual differences require the incorporation of motivational influences on human cognition comprising perception, information processing situational awareness and decision making from an engineering point of view. The model is used to investigate the interaction between vehicle, driver and environment.
