Abstract
The experiments are conducted on up- and down-grade winding roads, by using novice and experienced drivers. The measuring items are road conditions, driver's operations and vehicle motion. The driving characteristics of novice and experienced drivers are analyzed by means of power spectral density for each variables of road parameters, driving operations and vehicle motion. It is shown that the frequency (statistical) characteristics of novice drivers differ from these of experienced drivers in speed and directional controls especially on down-grade.
