Abstract

Recently, ITS technologies are being developed to solve a number of important social issues. Their aim is to address many issues relating to safety, Traffic Management, and the Environment. This is especially true as it relates to the Research and Development of Automated Driving as part of an AHS under light-infrastructure support. However, the sensor performance may not be reliable enough, due to bad weather and or sensing error. Therefore, we are conducting research on sensor fusion to improve the reliance and performance of the system. In this paper, we propose using the navigation system as a vehicle control system. So, we check the performance by simulation of 3 types of navigation systems, that is a Lane Marker navigation system (LMNS), an Inertial navigation system (INS), as well as Hybrid LMNS and INS system. Through this research, we recognized a high level accuracy with the Integrated navigation system. An Integrated navigation system was installed in an autonomous test car, and we could easily recognize the effects of the navigation system under actual test conditions.
