Abstract

The tyre behaviour in the contact patch is modelled by a first-order system for the lateral force, in series with a phase leading system for the pneumatic trail to caculate the aligning moment. A rigid ring model represents the dynamics of the tyre tread band with respect to the rim. The tyre model calculations agree well with the measured by dynamic tyre responses to step wise increases of the yaw angle.
