Abstract

When a vehicle makes a turn on rough road, road disturbance causes fluctuation of vertical load, which results in deteriorated vehicle maneuverability and stability. Improvement of stability as well as ride comfort of a vehicle on uneven roadway by using active suspension control with additional vertical load control was studied. By using full vehicle four wheeled model which has nine degrees of freedom, the responses of vertical and lateral motions are discussed. And the advantages of the active suspension control with additional vertical load control to improve mauneverability and stability are shown.
