Abstract

Electric Active Stabilizer (EAS) system, which has achieved both roll angle reduction and comfortable ride, has been developed. The EAS system can automatically control a roll angle using the actuator mounted in the center of a stabilizer at the time of a cornering. In order to realize small and a light weight, the brushless DC motor and the Gear were chosen as an actuator. To improve vehicle drivability and to secure robustness against ambient temperature change, power supply voltage change and aged deterioration, the development object is to improve position control accuracy for the motor control. To meet this object, an actuator structure optimization and H control with constant matrix scaling, which is excellent in response characteristics and robust stability are combined. As a result, the highly efficient and reliable EAS system has been developed and will be introduced through simulation and experimental results.
