Abstract

In order to maintain the vehicle in correct safety conditions, it is necessary to periodically check during the vehicle´s technical inspections the most important systems that affect safety such as brakes, steering and the suspension system which plays an important role in the safety drivability of a vehicle.

In a previous works [Calvo et al., 2005] (1) a test method and validation criteria have been suggested, based on determining the damping coefficient of a shock absorber through a vibrating platform test bench, in order to establish the suspension system status, taking into account only the vertical behaviour.

In this paper, variations on the side behaviour of the vehicle due to a suspension wearing have been analyzed by taking into account the suspension system validation criteria suggested by Calvo [Calvo et al., 2005] (1).
