Abstract

Analysis on vibration fatigue is a key technology in predicting the reliability of vehicle components which is mainly exposed to the random vibration or other irregular sources in operation. Vibration inducing component is hard to perform a fatigue analysis in time domain owing to the different characteristics of responding signals. Even some kinds of effort using power spectral density(PSD) was presented to cope with the intangible problems, it is still lack of providing a reasonable solution when its exciting frequency is approaching resonance frequency. In this paper, energy method is presented to calculate a vibration induced fatigue damage as compensating accelerated damage with proposed damage isoclines. Simple uni-axial vibration test is conducted as an example to show the efficiency of the energy principle on damage calculation.
