Abstract

The purpose of this study was to establish an optimal design for a robust
window regulator system that is less influenced by usage environment conditions and
deterioration with use. The parameter design method was deployed to analyze how much
influence each design parameter has on regulator system performance. Lifting speed has
commonly been measured in evaluating window regulator systems. However, electric energy
consumption by the electric drive motor was measured in this study instead to obtain more
accurate results. Design parameters such as the rail span are thought to greatly influence
regulator system performance, and it was confirmed that the method proposed here can
quantify the influence of such parameters.
