Abstract

V-belt pulleys, which play a key role in transmitting the power from an engine
to cooling pump, oil pump, and air-conditioner, are manufactured through the sequential
manufacturing process consisted of press, drawing, turning, etc. In this study, a data
warehouse is designed and implemented to manage various kinds of data collected from
manufacturing equipments and special information systems, which are already installed in the
pulley manufacturing shop. On the basis of the data warehouse the SCDS (setup condition
decision system) is suggested to reduce man-hour and/or defect rate during setup of a
manufacturing process.
