Abstract
Automotive control arm was developed by Al hot forging with support of
computer simulation, and the mechanical and metallurgical properties were evaluated. In
order to improve yield rate of preform and reduce production cost, roll forming process was
adopted. And to manufacture with roll formed preform by hot forging, die, raw material size
and shape design and filling simulation were carried out with CAE program. Based on the
result of computer simulation, the optimal mold and raw material were designed and then
manufactured.
