Abstract:

The presented work describes the need for dynamic calibration approaches and the applied methodology to identify the dynamic behaviour of state-of-the art combustion engines. This leads to a highly increased efficiency of the test bed work since not only the steady-state but also the dynamic system response can be identified in a short measurement time. Performing the optimisation on the input parameters of the model can also support the algorithm design process. This can result in improved ECU functions for the transient engine behaviour. The goal is to implement this new methodology into an industrial environment without using highly sophisticated measurement devices.
