In this study were developed theoretical and experimental researches regarding the active safety systems for passenger cars. In order to validate the ABS/ASR system working algorithm and to accentuate the influences over the braking or starting processes with and without ABS/ASR, a planar dynamic model was designed for a single wheel of the passenger car. This simplified model has two inertial elements: a wheel in rotation and a mass in translational movement (the "quarter" vehicle).
