Abstract

Keywords: human thermal comfort, comfort zones, mean radiant temperature, PMV - PPD indices, passenger compartment.

Lately, the most of the automotives manufactures have focused on the increasing of the habitable comfort. The thermal comfort sensation is assures by the factors that depend on the warmth exchange between the human body and the ambient environment. It is well known that one of the requirements to be fulfilled is that a person to be in thermal neutrality according to the comfort equation. This is described and evaluated by the PMV - PPD (Predicted Mean Vote - Predicted Percentage of Dissatisfied) indices (ISO 7730), which take into account the following six parameters: activity, clothing, air temperature, mean radiant temperature, air velocity and humidity.
