In this paper it is presented the way to determine the inertia matrix [M] and the rigidity matrix [R] of the longitudinal vibrations for a linear elastic bar, starting from the mathematical model written for a deformable continuous medium mechanical model. The construction of the matrices [R] and [M] is made in the known general way, using energetical methods. For other type of vibrations, the same type of method is adequate for use.
