Abstract
The Electro-Mechanical brake by wire system developed by Delphi brings substantial advantages in the field of safety, both active and passive, but also offers a wide range of possibilities for the interior design. As a fluid-free system, it finds naturally its place in the ever increasing concerns for the environment. It is also the perfect brake system for the coming hybrid electric vehicles enabling optimised regeneration of energy. Safety, Environment and Ergonomics are the main drivers for electric brake by wire.
