Abstract
The paper presents some researches and studies in the EU project ECORailS (Energy Efficiency and Environmental Criteria in the Awarding of Regional Rail Transport Vehicles and Services). Politehnica University of Timişoara was a member of the consortium working. The 14 partners are from 6 countries Germany, Denmark, Sweden, Italy, Romania and Hungary. The target group of this project are first of all Public Transport Administrations (PTAs) which play a key role today when it comes to improving the quality and environmental performance of passenger rail transport.
