Abstract
The paper presents a test rig developed to determine the qualitative and quantitative parameters of the automotive mechanical face seals - leakage, the moment of friction, temperature and gap-friction surfaces wear and durability - in various operating conditions to pursue these quality parameters and influence the behavior of torque contact at the primary seal material. After the experimentations the friction torque, the power dissipated by friction, the friction coefficient and the rig’s temperature dependences were determined.
