Abstract

The paper presents the influence of valve train design parameters on valve rotation movement for a direct acting type. The necessity of the engine valve rotation movement is presented in the introduction of the paper. So it can be notice the fact that valve rotation has an important role in engine life by reducing the wear, the carbon deposit and providing a better cylinder sealing. The main section consist of the test rig description, the method used for measured the valve rotation and the result obtained by modifying some parameters like camshaft speed, oil pressure, oil temperature and valve spring characteristics. Based on the obtained result on the test rig it might conclude the fact that the valve train design parameters and operating conditions influence the valve rotational movement.
