Abstract
Road accident cause about 1.2 million of deaths and more than 50 million severe injuries every year, involving global costs of more than 180 billion EURO.
A lot of traffic accidents are produced in lower visibility conditions and particularly in the night when the limits of human on visual quality is not capable to adapt in difficult conditions.
In the last period has been made important studies and tests that change the classic conception about visibility in night traffic conditions and blindness phenomena.
The spectrum of research it is now focused on specific condition in night visibility and connected directly to the lighting system of the cars.
The paper analyzes and organizes some of the conclusions of news studies in benefit of specialists who have to analyze the traffic accidents.
