Abstract

During motion on the roads, in automotives appear oscillations and shocks that have a noxious influence on the human body, determining high fatigue and unpleasant physiological sensations for the persons in the automotive.

These oscillations appear at suspended and unsuspended masses of automotives, with a considerable influence on: the passenger´s comfort, the transported merchandises integrity, the reliability of the car body elements, suspension, transmission and engine.

Even that not in all situations the parts will reach to surpass the tearing limit, due to the shocks and oscillations the automotive parts are subjected to variable stresses with a casual character most of the time, reducing their fatigue resistance.

This paper presents a dynamic analysis of an automotive suspension in the non-linear domain, done using the Finite Elements Method (FEM) and by applying the MSC/NASTRAN software. Also, it is presented a frequency analyze of the studied suspension, based on the experimental determinations done.
