Abstract

Abstract

The paper presents experimental analysis of influence on human thermal sensation in the vehicle in hot environment. In order to assess microclimate conditions in vehicle cabin in moderate hot environment, measurement of the thermal conditions in the interior of the passenger vehicle was performed during and after hot soak. The results show that it is not possible even in mild hot environment to achieve comfortable conditions in vehicle cabin without use of air conditioning.

Thermal conditions in motor vehicle cabin are important factor not only for passenger comfort but also for their performance, health and traffic safety. Passenger cars are used in extreme climate conditions, both from very low to very high temperatures of the environment. Moderate microclimate at vehicle cabin is obtained by appropriate equipment, which now became standard equipment of the passenger cars.
