Abstract

Abstract

The aim of actual researches is, on the one side, to optimize the procedures, machine-tools and the tools with defined geometry in order to obtain the assigned precision, and on the other side to set up the variation limits of the work parameters for processing a determined material.

This paper intend to establish, based on theoretical and experimental studies, how the quality parameters is influenced by the milling method, the type and nature of cutting tool and the parameters of cutting regime. The quality parameters taken into consideration are the roughness and the deviation of the obtained surface from the nominal position.

The industrial practice emphasizes the actual trend that finishing cutting technologies for part surfaces is done with defined geometry tools and less by the classical grinding process, characterized by: high cutting speeds, specific shapes and characteristics of abrasive tools, long time for processing and high cost of the process.

Keywords: surfaces quality, process factors, finishing combined milling, cutting tool, cutting regime.
