The control of thrust force in the Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) with metal belt is the most important factors where decides about energetic, dynamic and environment pollution prosperities. The optimization of thrust force level is possible during analysis of transmission load and frictional conditions between belt and transmission wheel. In this paper the necessary modification of control system and estimation method of frictional conditions are described. In the analysis the influence of the thrust force and torque level on frictional condition are graphical presented. The test bench results and developed mathematical method are compared. The estimation method could be used to develop new control algorithm in the CVT.Keywords: CVT, power transmission system, mathematical modelling, thrust force
