Abstract

Abstract

A major demand in study vehicle handling quality is to determine the structure and parameters of driver model as an analog of his control dynamics. This paper deals with a study the structures of driver-vehicle-environment system in different regulation task. It is generally assumed that driver control action is a function of the vehicle lateral and directional position. In analysing the required driver model structure two typical cases are considered: 1/ controlling a conventional vehicle with 2WS steering system, 2/ controlling a vehicle with advanced steering components, e.g., 4WS vehicle, vehicle with stability augmentation system, etc. Comparative control levels are estimated by means optimal control theory. With simulation results the proposed method is illustrated.
