Abstract

Abstract:

Power transmission using planetary gear trains is followed by losses which are the result of friction between teeth of gears, bearings and hydraulics losses (churn of oil, friction between oil and mobile parts etc.). Experimental planetary gear train is developed for determining the relations between losses in teeth and overall losses. This experimental planetary gear train enables the formation of several different kinematics configurations and testing planetary gear train efficiency. The testing was conducted on the experimental test bench with an open contour. For four kinematical configurations the dependence of losses in teeth and overall losses is established as a function of load and angular velocity. The effects of oil temperature on efficiency are also analyzed. Test results are shown by diagrams for each configuration.
