Motor vehicle must have quite enough reserves of electrical energy to satisfy numerous consumer requirements. Appropriate electrical energy sources have to enable safe engine start and reliable vehicle exploitation. Designing vehicle, it is very important to choose the right alternator, which will not cause battery empting during the exploitation. In this paper an alternative testing procedure for motor vehicle alternator capability to keep state of battery charging, and equipment and software used for effective and reliable measurements and testing results analysis are described.
