Abstract

The current paper presents an experimental way of determining the static efficiency of a coupled two-carrier planetary gear train. The method enables a relatively quick determination of the manufacturing quality of identical planetary gear trains or estimation of the energy effectiveness of the various speeds in multi-speed planetary gear trains.

In the paper the generalized results of the experiments with a two-speed planetary gear with power circulation are presented. The bench enables simulation of manufacturing errors - carrier and crown gear eccentricity for examining their impact on the efficiency.
