Abstract

In machine systems such as automobiles, there are a number of singular disturbances, especially impacts, expansions, etc. These disturbances are repeatable and excite natural free vibrations. Disturbance repetition restores free damped vibrations with repetition frequency and creates a specific kind of machine system vibration. Gear teeth mesh impacts and vibration response are the subject of this paper. Singular systems theory is the starting base for this analysis. Automobile power transmission system, discrete (gears, shafts, etc.) and continual (housings and the other similar elastic structures), is one of the objects for this approach verification.
