Abstract
The paper presents the continuation of researches on needs and possibilities for application of plastic masses of new generation with the aim of increasing the stiffness of sensitive car body joints, i.e. car body as a whole. The advantages of their application are the following: the shape of existing sheet metal parts remains unchanged and the existing technologies are maintained. The preliminary analyses of the effects of application and of determined influence onto the behaviour of car body joints indicated the validity of application. The effects of reconstructions of one car body belonging to Zastava production programme were shown. On points where it was possible, constructive changes were made as well. Sensitive car body joints were strengthened with plastic masses of new generation. The application effects were investigated in laboratory conditions. The obtained results indicate the validity of introducing new materials, i.e technologies, as well as the possible application points.
