Abstract

In order to predict the defroster performance quantitatively, it is necessary to calculate precisely the heat transfer in the boundary layer of impinging flow region and its downstream. Generally, since the present commercial CFD code does not solve the flow in the boundary layer directly but with the wall function, the calculation of the heat transfer does not always give practical precise the purpose of this paper is to present a new method which enables us to calculate the turbulent kinetic energy with practical precision, which is related to the heat transfer property for the impinging flow. Especially, we suggest a new treatment of the boundary layer flow based on the fundamental experience.
