Abstract
In the brake thermal analysis conduction, convection and radiation are generally considered. And there are difficulties in the determination of convection coefficient on the several surfaces. In this article, the way to determine the convection coefficient is shown, which is used in the thermal analysis since 1994. The convection coefficients are determined by considering the air velocity and surface shape. Additional property, which has not been considered in the brake thermal analysis, is introduced. This is the thermal contact resistance. From this we can get the new result and influence of conduction between brake disk and pad.
