Abstract
In this research, CFD was used to predict the defrosting pattern at windshield and front door glass. The general-purpose CFD package was used to perform the numerical simulation. Two types of defroster duct and simplified passenger compartment acquired from steady solutions, transient defrosting simulations were performed for the passenger compartment including safety glass and ice layer. One of two objectives of this investigation is to verify how the shape defroster duct affects the flow fields of downstream and defrosting patterns. The other is to verify the defrosting performance of two systems.
