Abstract

Exhaust gases from diesel engine have been more concerned than one from a gasoline engine because exhaust gases from a diesel engine produce toxic Nox and PM. It is very strongly required on reduction techniques on these harmful Nox and PM than any other compositions. A numerical approach by KIVA code has been carried out to investigate the complex multi-phase phenomena inside the combustion chamber of 8000cc heavy duty diesel engine with exhaust gas recirculation (EGR), as well as effects on smoke and Nox.
