Abstract

Flexibly mounted kinematic linkages usually define suspension systems and have an effect on the handling performance. In the case of benchmarking the car made by other company, it is not easy to obtain its suspension geometric data. Conceptual Suspension Module (CSM) is one of the modules included in ADAMS/Car(1) and can make the dynamic model not with those data but with kinematic & compliant suspension characteristics obtained by rig test. This paper describes the results of dynamic analysis about two cars in the point of view of handling performance. One is the car in developing and the other is the car for benchmarking. It is expected that the technique using CSM can be useful in design stage.
