Abstract

The automotive industry is transforming itself from a mechanical industry to an industry that is driven by electronics. One of the key elements for driven by electronics is in-vehicle network. CAN is honored to be the main player for it. However, CAN may not be a suitable solution for all of the requirements to control a vehicle. The other protocol such as TTP has been proposed indeed. This paper will first study the limit of CAN, and then it will propose the new concept of in-vehicle protocol that is based on the idea of token passing.
