Abstract
There are increasing demands for a system using information technology that enables transportation logistics business to acquire real-time data of its fleet and utilize them to control and improve the efficiency of operations. The Total Vehicle Management System (FTSS) was developed to meet these demands. In this system the on-board computer collects automatically information on operation, position and maintenance of the vehicle. The system can transfer information to the management server quickly through packet communication. It also enables acquiring and analyzing data by easy operation and has labor saving functions, such as creating daily reports and other documents.
