Abstract
The vehicle aerodynamic characteristics with underbody are one of the critical components to achieve efficient fuel-economical vehicles. Although, to experiment the underbody flow, it has been necessary to utilize a large amount of human resources and time. In this paper, a new CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) analysis method using the automatic tetrahedral and prismatic cell generation tools for the analysis of an underbody flow is investigated. This new method contributes to reducing the development term of the vehicle aerodynamics characteristics with underbody.
