Abstract
BJD-6100EV electric buses, jointly developed by Beijing Institute of Technology and Beijing Public Transport Company, are introduced. Permanent magnetic direct current (PMDC) motor with enhanced windings used in the bus is modeled. Pe rformance of electric bus is calculated and verified by experimental results. Traveling range of electric but can be predicted by the proposed formula. Voltage uniformity of storage batteries and environmental temperature affecting performance and rang of electric bus are analyzed qualitatively with the help of experimental data. We expect that computational methods will provide helpful reference to development of electric vehicles.
