Emission of Polluting Substances and Fuel Consumption by Automotive Vehicles in Poland Examined for Type Approval

Abstract

This paper presents an evaluation of examination results of the CO, HC, NOx , PM emissions and the fuel consumption of automotive vehicles examined in Poland for the type approval in 2001 (until the end of June current year). The paper introduces also estimation results of emission and fuel consumption obtained during type approval of automotive vehicles examined in Poland in 1996-1997. The new (Euro III/Euro IV – Directive 98/69EC and Regulation ECE 83.05) procedures used in the type approval examination in presented scope have been described and several results of these examinations conducted in Poland in accordance with the requirements of the ECE UNO Regulations have been evaluated. The results of vehicle CO2 emissions and an attitude to the EOBD system principle have also been presented.
