Abstract

To meet future US and European NOx emission standards, it is essential to develop catalyst technology that will reduce NOx emission in addition to the other three pollutants (HC, CO and Particulate). Two materials that attracted great attention as de -NOx catalyst are zeolite and co-catalyst contained oxidation catalyst. One of manufactured several catalysts showed the NOx conversion of 20~28% but the activity temperature of these was higher than 300oC. Also, its window range was narrow. In case of a general diesel passenger car, engine outlet gas temperature is lower than 250 oC on ECE mode. Finally, lean NOx catalyst using at low temperature was needed. In this paper, addition effects (conversion, temperature range, and etc.) of the zeolite and co-catalyst contained oxidation catalyst under diesel engine conditions were investigated.
