Abstract

Through the direction of the fluid mechanics and acoustics theory, the aerodynamic design of the engine cooling axial fan was discussed. To suppress the noise generation and ensure the enough wind flux, software was developed to determine the main parameters of the fan, CAD model has been built, and manufactured by rapid prototyping. CFD analysis also is conducted to visualize the velocity and pressure in the flow field, which are the direct sources of the aerodynamic noise. The test results have revealed the obvious effect on noise, and the requirements of low noise and ensurement of wind flux are both sufficed.
