Abstract
The example of Changan SC6350 demonstrates the use of the explicit finite element method in the optimization of the vehicle structure. Some of the factors that affect the simulation were argued first, then the entire finite element m odel of the vehicle is built using ANSYS/LS -DYNA3D. The analysis resulted in valuable information concerning frontend deformation behavior, deceleration variation during a simulated 48.3km/h frontal barrier impact, and well coincided with the experiment carried out at th e same time.
By FEM modeling, computer simulation and analysis, structure modification could be carried out accordingly and passive safety could be improved with higher efficient and less expenditure.
